The Turtle & Elephant Company, trading as TEC Computer Systems is a Leicestershire based company who build and supply computer systems and solutions to the public and trade in the UK.

They started as a back bedroom operation and with Difference Engines Limited's help, progressed into being a company with an annual turnover of over £1 million and operating out of signigicantly larger premises.

The vast majority TEC's work is the sale of computer components and computer systems to the general public over it's counter in outer-Leicester or at Computer Trade shows around the country. Over the years the TEC has managed to keep afloat where many other similar size companies have tried and failed. They have done this by diversification; much of this diversitication has been possible through the assistance of Difference Engines Limited's staff.

One project we were heavily involved with was called VitalDVD.

VitalDVD was an e-shop which sold DVDs. It was one of the earlier DVD on-line retailers and was one of the few places where you could order Region 1 DVDs as well as the UK's own Region 2 DVDs. Difference Engines Limited were involved in the putting together of the look, feel, maintainence and general set-up of the e-shop.

TEC's construction of computer systems was very seasonal, therefore there were times when a large quantity of new PC systems needed to be constructed, loaded with software and prepared for customers to use. At these times, Difference Engines Limited was called upon to provide staff to carry out the necessary labour.
